SK8mafia: Kelen, Wes and company

Sk8mafia (Skatemafia) is a skate t-shirt brand founded by Josh Priebe and Dan Connelly. But the mafiosi quickly switched to the production of boards and other skateboard hardware, which they continue to do to this day. The company devotes much more effort, time, and money to the production of staff than to any clothes. Although in any Sk8mafia collection you can always find a couple of caps, T-shirts, and sweatshirts.

All information about the team composition was taken from the brand’s official website –

Boards: graphics, sizes, quality

If you prefer to race on “beautiful” skateboards, then you will definitely like the mafia graphics. A bunch of turnip, chicken and other party motifs can be traced from collection to collection. But we can’t ignore the team boards – a laconic design that hasn’t changed for a very long time, which means that the graphics are liked by many brand followers.

The company has never produced skateboards with carbon fiber or any other technologies – classic seven-layer chips are waiting for you in each collection of the brand. The quality of the boards is quite good: they do not crumble, are not brittle on the first hard landings, with a standard tenacious click. In principle, it is difficult to note any disadvantages or advantages of foreign brands that primarily work on the production of skateboards.

The shape of the boards and their concave also do not have any remarkable features. The brand’s line includes all the most popular sizes: the largest is 8.5, the smallest is 7.6 (this can probably be called a difference from other brands, since not everyone produces such narrow boards).

Interesting collection or girls on boards

Sk8mafia has been supporting the release of the Girls Girls Girls collection for a very long time. To create graphics, special models were invited for whom photo sessions were arranged and only the best photographs became graphics. Every guy will want such a “beauty”.

The brand’s echoes can be traced from many points. But the guys are not into modern music, but old school. Pay attention to the brand logo. What does it remind you of? Of course it’s Wu Tang!

Sk8mafia rarely pleases its followers with any video content nowadays. In the entire history of the brand, only a few more or less full-length videos have been released:

  • way of life;
  • SKATEMAFIA video 2016;
  • SweetMafia – Stee and a few others.

Once upon a time, the brand released small videos every week called SK8MAFIA Saturday, where they edited the tricks of all the riders that they managed to film over the previous week. It was interesting to follow the movements of the team during filming and you immediately imagined what cool tricks the riders could pull off on the spots that you saw in these cuts.

Also, as part of this series, Mafiosi released the video SK8MAFIA MONTHLY, where the best moments from the weekly cuts were inserted, and these videos were also supplemented with some interesting moments. All such videos had a timing of up to 5 minutes and looked quite easy and relaxed – almost like it is now on Instagram.

Something new from Sk8mafia

Just a few days before the release of the material, the guys published a profile of Alexis Ramirez on the YouTube channel of Thrasher magazine. Bomb party with lots of very cool technical tricks. Looking at the second trick in the first track, you understand that Ramirez is about to pile on the techniques, and throughout the entire profile you are continually surprised by the complexity of the tricks he performs.

Unusual hand gesture

The video often includes moments where the team riders fold the fingers of both hands to form the brand logo. It is unknown who is behind this logo development, but it is very interesting. Again, here you can trace the connection with the same Wu Tang, whose logo fans make with their hands at every concert.
